Re: Most famous person who went to your school?
At my schools more were infamous rather than famous.

John McVicar "Britain's Most Wanted" - predated me at Primary School by a few years- friends with my older cousins (females), his father's newsagents was my local shop - and opposite my cousins house.

Brian Phelps - High Board Diver European Gold Medalist and Olympic Bronze Medalist and Paedophile Rapist. Who as a kid was taught to swim by the Father of my cousins mentioned above. Some might wish my Uncle had not been so successful. Phelps was at my Secondary School and was a couple years older than me. Remember him diving off the School balcony onto a specially purchased trampoline for his trainning needs. We weren't friends.

Also in my year at School Richard Digance - comedian folk singer, Don't remember him as particularly funny then or now.

Phil Woosnam took football training for a while at my school,

When I lecturered at College students included

Frank Lampard (jnr) - very briefly on day release. Frank Snr signed him up for the course - he barely attended.
On the same course was Lee Goodwin. Both then in West Ham Reserves. Lee got injured and never made it for the Hammers but had a ten year career at Dagenham, Good lad as I remember,

Peter Butler was also a student at the same College but on a Management Course. Nice man.

Just about remember - a young Eddie Hern also being at the college and also Doris Pearson of Five Star.

Apparently, on the last building used by Linzrealschule, there is a plaque saying that Wittgenstein attend the school.

There is no mention of Adolf Hitler, who also attended.

Probably not just because they kicked Hitler out for being workshy, whereas Wittgenstein completed his time there...

Mike Atherton - former England cricket captain was in my class at Manchester Grammar School in the first and second year.

Good bloke and I've seen him on 2 or 3 occasions since and we have a brief chat about school days.

Also John Crawley who also played for England was a couple of years below Mike and I at the same school

Shame I didn't pick up much in the way of cricketing tips!

How did it go, you ask…

Well, as you can probably gather, not great! Hence the reason I write a load of bollocks on here, instead of being on the TV playing…

Funnily enough, I met Nicky Shorey out a few years ago in Loughton (we were both shitfaced ) and mentioned to him that his old man had scouted me for Orient. He seemed like a nice bloke and we had a couple of beers.

He was with Kevin Watson - who I think started out with Tottenham, who commentates on the Soccer Saturday games. I didn’t speak to him much, he seemed a bit moody. To be fair I didn’t want to make too much conversation with him, as I was pissed and I didn’t want to mention the fact, as we all know, that Tottenham are a bunch of shitcunts..

As for Jonathan Fortune, although we knew each ove,r I didn’t knock about with him loads. I had a couple of kick about’s over Keely & tongs (I think it was called that) at school with him.

You might remember someone at school called Marlon Russell, then?

Over the years I used to see JF out and about local and we’d say hello to eachover. Last time I saw him, I think, was in Funky MoJo’s.....I know, we'll say no more!! ;-)

Sum a ding:

Nice! How'd it go? I always liked his dad. Proper old school.

I also know Jonathan Fortune. My dad and his dad are friends. Funnily enough, last time I saw him was at Upton Park last season vs. Southampton. I think he's coaching now.

Can't think of anyone famous that went to Eastbrook comprehensive. We did have John Dunne (old Aston Villa keeper) as a temporary PE teacher for one summer in the early seventies. Good bloke as it goes.
